Job summary
We are looking to recruit people with paramedic skills to help support practices in Eastbourne and Hailsham care for their patients closer to home, support the maintenance of or the reduction in non-elective admissions and reduce the pressure of GP workload.
If you are a skilled paramedic with 2 years experience, committed to learning and improving, with good listening skills that supports people make good decisions through shared decision making, we want to hear from you.
The role will include providing triage, face to face clinics, home and care home visiting in hours and in extended hours. Beyond that we also want to learn how to make it as easy as possible for the people we serve to get the help they need. This means understanding people, their context and what matters to them. We offer a rich and varied clinical role with support for your training and development within a self-managed team.
Main duties of the job
You will provide a specialist paramedic resource as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a patient facing role. That is the key technical skill you will have. Just as important are your listening and team skills, along with your caring and compassionate nature.
Working across a community of practices, you will work as an autonomous, accountable paramedic providing holistic care whilst assessing, diagnosing and providing treatment to patients; or referring / directing to other services. Patient groups include patients who attend surgery in hours and extended hours, or request domicilary visits relating to unscheduled minor conditions, injuries or acute illness.
