Job summary

We are looking to recruit cheerful, enthusiastic experienced Staff Nurse to join our dynamic, experienced team.

We would like you to provide general nursing services including treatment, screening and advice according to policy and protocols and within the professional competence of the post holder.

The post holder will always work within the Code of Conduct as set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and work within guidelines and protocols at all times

  • Initiate and arrange a methodical assessment of patient and service need

  • To be aware of health and safety issues affecting staff, patients and visitors and keep up to date with health and safety training

  • Maintain accurate records of the care given, ensuring accurate data input into computerised systems

  • Assist and chaperone, when necessary, with the examination and treatment of patients

Job responsibilities

Main duties and key responsibilities

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and work within guidelines and protocols at all time

  • Initiate and arrange a methodical assessment of patient and service need

  • Minor injuries

  • Industrial injuries

  • Spirometry

  • Removal of sutures/clips

  • Wound management including compression therapy

  • Phlebotomy

  • Health promotion

  • Undertaking planned and opportunistic tests and investigations at the request of other members of the clinical team

  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed

  • Peak flow readings

  • Hypertension management

  • Weight monitoring and support

  • Health promotion

  • First aid and management of emergencies e.g. cardiac arrest, shock, haemorrhage

  • New patient medicals/urinalysis

  • ECGs
