Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner

Place of Work: South Cumbria and Lancashire various locations

Accountable to: Medical Director

Sessions: 8 clinical sessions per week

Remuneration: £10,480 per session - 8 sessions per week

Job Purpose:The role is to provide excellent medical care to the people of South Cumbria and Lancashire, working across a range of clinical services including Local Practices, Community Diagnostic Centres and Enhanced Access as part of a portfolio role.

There will be a requirement for some evening and weekend working along with travel to other Practices and CDC Centres

What we are looking for - Main Duties:

• Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.

• Providing appropriate preventative health care and advice.

• Adhering to the local prescribing formulary.

• Preparing medical reports for insurance companies, employers and statutory bodies.

• Participating in clinical governance activity and contributing to the improvement in quality of health outcomes through MBPCCs audit programme.

• Clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties necessary for the delivery of the primary care contracts.

• Engaging in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical competence and performance, including the completion of objectives agreed by yourself and your appraiser.

• Participating in the training and development of nurses and non-clinical colleagues.

• Supporting the fellow colleagues and responding to requests for advice and assistance from our teams.

• To undertake daily tasks such as results, letters, reports, repeat prescribing etc.

• Mandatory training and professional development

• Support the smooth running of services, providing professional insights into how services can be continually improved to benefit local people.

• At all times to behave in a professional way that encourages quality practice and the development of team spirit.

• Health and Safety: It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure that the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are complied with, safe working practices are adhered to and that any hazards are reported to the appropriate officer immediately.
