Job summary

Kendal Primary Care Network is seeking a Digital Lead to join our friendly and busy network of practices. This is an exciting new role under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) with plenty of scope for development. The post holder will support quality and service improvement projects and the digital maturity of the PCN, working with PCN and practice leadership teams.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the PCN leadership team and practice staff, helping to develop transformation and improvement strategy across the PCN. They will be responsible for horizon scanning for innovative solutions to identified challenges in practices, assess how they might improve the existing systems within our 3 practices, and ultimately supporting the sustainability of general practice by improving quality of service and patient care. Developing strong working relationships with all three practices is essential as the successful candidate will work with practices to scope, plan, implement and evaluate practical improvements that benefit patients and staff in the PCN.

Key responsibility areas are technology implementation, change management, digital strategy, information governance, and data analysis. The role requires up to date knowledge of system-wide strategies and initiatives, as well as in-depth knowledge of Kendal PCNs infrastructure and vision. As PCN Digital Lead, they will work with our practices Digital Champions to introduce improvements, and be able to present complex information in a clear and concise form.

The post holder will also develop relationships and support problem solving with local partners, including colleagues in the ICB, IT service providers and partners within our Integrated Neighborhood Team.

About us

We have three practices in our network, Captain French Surgery, the James Cochrane Practice and Station House Surgery, all based in the same town, serving over 38,000 patients.

The core objective of the PCN Digital and Transformation Lead role is to support the delivery of ongoing improvement to services, benefitting both staff and patients in Kendal PCN. This objective involves, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Work with practices to identify areas of improvement and operational challenges

  • Ensure that GDPR and Information Governance requirements are met within the PCN.

  • Work with the PCN Manager to Implement and maintain the PCN website, Microsoft Teams Channels and social media platforms.

Communication & Relationship Development

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with PCN leadership and practice teams.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local partners, including colleagues in the ICB, IT service providers, partners within our Integrated Neighborhood Team, the GP Federation, neighbouring PCNs and other key partners.

  • Deliver technical information in a non-technical and engaging way to a range of stakeholders.
