Job summary

You have the opportunity to join a forward-thinking and supportive team of positive professionals, committed to providing the best training and education for primary care. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the L&SC PCTH team in the delivery of Apprenticeships and other education programmes and L&SC PCTH activities. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will primarily support the Apprenticeship Coordinator and the Senior Administrator in their work through updating project trackers, supporting the processing of Apprenticeship applications,  signposting external requests, organising diaries, taking notes at meetings and other administrative tasks. Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills will be essential to build open and positive relationships with various stakeholders, while good time management will be crucial for the timely delivery of objectives.

About us

The Lancashire and South Cumbria Primary Care Training Hub (L&SC PCTH) has been developed to drive the Health Education England deliverables outlined in both the Common Operational Guidance and Quality Framework. The primary functions of the L&SC PCTH are to:

  • Develop and expand placement capacity
  • Ensure workforce planning is in place
  • Increase recruitment to Primary Care
  • Recruit and embed new roles
  • Retain the workforce within Primary Care
  • Offer placed-based tariffs

Educational and workforce development opportunities will be provided across the Primary Care workforce which will include:

  • Apprenticeships
  • New to Practice (Fellowships)
  • Continual Professional Development
  • Leadership Development
  • Ad hoc opportunities offered by Health Education England

  • Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English Language
  • NVQ level 3 in administration or equivalent qualification or equivalent previous proven experience

Desirable

  • Recognised qualification in IT skills, ie EDCL or equivalent

  • Experience with a range of administrative procedures
  • Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a Primary Care setting, healthcare environment and/or public sector
  • Experience in working virtually and with online platforms
  • Experience of minute taking
