We are looking for enthusiastic Care Assistants to work in our Inpatient Ward. A Care Certificate or equivalent qualification is essential for this role. This position is for 37 hours per week and there is a requirement to work across a full rotation 24/7.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for delivering a high standard of care to all patients within the IPU, Sylvan ward, the HCA will work both independently and as part of a team providing safe, competent, and ethical client care under the strict guidance of registered healthcare professionals, in the delivery of palliative care to patients and their families, adhering to Hospice to national UK protocols, procedures and guidelines.

Our 12-bed unit is a well-supported setting where you work alongside a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, specialist Medical team and Allied Health Professionals. Additionally, our volunteers bring plenty of positivity and invaluable support to our ward. This diversity of skills, knowledge and experience is fundamental to excellent care, and the wards friendly and supportive atmosphere.Inspired activities such as afternoon teas, pizza nights and donkey visits make for lasting memorable moments; some of the wonderful examples of holistic care our teams create for our patients and families.

To ensure a positive work-life balance, we facilitate a flexible, family-friendly approach by encouraging the team to self-roster. Our inpatient team work a 12-hour shift pattern of days and nights.
