Job summary
Horsham Central Primary Care Network are looking for a Paramedic Practitioner to join their team and work across the practices with each of the practice teams. This is a part time position of 22.5 hours a week.
The post holder will take referrals direct from
practices to carry out in practice clinics, home visits, telephone or online
triage as appropriate. The role will
involve the assessment, diagnosis, treatment or referral of patients presenting
with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions. The post holder will work
within their level of competency and will be clinically supervised by a General
Practitioner working in the area.
This role will
have completed or be working toward a Band 7 First Contact
Practitioner (Paramedic) role, based on the completion of stage 1 and
stage 2 of the Health Education England Competency Framework. You will
then be assisted to develop and enter the ACP pathway. You will be supported
through indirect supervision and will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing,
interpreting investigations and treating patients within Primary Care within a
developing scope of competence.
The post holder will be assigned a lead clinical and operational contact for each contract. ABC as employer will provide support and ensure access to the NHSE England training programme as required.
This post is part of the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme for Primary Care Networks funded by NHS England.
Main duties of the job
You will
monitor and assist with improving standards of care utilising clinical
expertise and experiences. You will teach and support colleagues and students
where appropriate, providing professional clinical leadership. Where
appropriate you will act as an expert in your field and lead and/or participate
in initiatives to improve standards of care for the client group and assisting
to advancing the ACP role.
The trainee
Advanced Clinical Practitioner is service driven, and you will be developing
around the Department of Health Guidance across the four domains of Advanced
Practice, those being:
- Expert Practice
- Practice and service development, Research
and Evaluation
- Education and Training
- Professional leadership and Consultancy
The Advanced
Clinical Practice MSc course can be completed through Brighton University or
the Open University. The PCN
welcomes all applicants who meet the criteria for the Trainee ACP role and will
support candidates who are at different stages of completing the FCP roadmap.

- Work with practice teams to ensure the
process for referral of urgent on the day patients is smooth and appropriate
