Job summary

ABC are developing a new eHub service to provide support in managing online consultations, using eConsult software, within general practice across Horsham, Crawley, and Mid Sussex.

We will be rolling the service out to 21 practices starting in July, with the final practices going live in September 2022. There will be opportunities for additional practices to join the service over time.

This role of a Prescribing ANP is to provide ANP support to ABC’s new eHub service, set up to sift, triage and manage online consultations on behalf of our practices using a provider called eConsult. eConsult allows patients to submit symptoms or requests to their practice electronically by completing an online form. eConsult also offers self-help information, signposting to other services and a symptom checker.

Hours: Full time / Part time (Service coverage hours between 0900-1700 – Monday to Friday)

Base: Will work for all of ABC’s PCNs from Clair Hall, Haywards Heath, West Sussex with scope/potential for working from home at a later date and once fully trained

Contract length: 12 months (will be reviewed for extension dependant on service requirement)

Main duties of the job

The role will be working within our eHub team across our Sussex PCNs. This will be a patient facing role, although we do not anticipate face to face contact will be required. Standardised processes and protocols will be in place whilst the exact service delivered may vary between PCNs.

Reporting to the Head of Service and GP Clinical Lead for clinical supervision, this role will be part of a team consisting of GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, skilled administrators and the potential for other AHPs, working both at physical locations and remotely for the new eHub service.

As part of the clinical duties in both roles, the successful candidates will join the multi-disciplinary staff in providing comprehensive care and will work with patients, carers, and families.

The post holder is a Prescribing ANP who acts within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside general practice. In this role they will be supported by a GP who will develop, manage and mentor them.
