We are seeking a motivated and solution-focused Healthcare Support Worker to join our dynamic and innovative team.

Connect for Health is a school nurse-led service that supports children, young people and their families in Warwickshire.  We deliver key elements of the Healthy Child programme, working to identify and meet the health and wellbeing needs of the school-aged population.  We aim to give individuals the best start in life and reduce health inequalities. 

About the role

The healthcare support worker role is varied and includes the delivery of the national Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) and Health Needs Assessment (HNA) to school-aged children.  On a daily basis you will be recording the height and weight of reception and year 6 pupils and entering the details into a specialist IT programme.  You will also support children to complete an online health questionnaire.  A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required. 

The role also involves sharing Public Health interventions with children. This is done via school assemblies, classroom lessons and community events.  This requires a person who is able to effectively engage and communicate with school-aged children and school staff. Tailoring your communication to be age appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be based in the Stratford Hub and work from different community locations.  You will work closely with other team members to support overall service delivery working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of those you serve.

The working pattern is term time only.

This role varies from 30 to 37hours Term Time Only

You will have experience of working with children, young people and families and have an interest in health promotion. You must possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships, as well as being adept at maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times.

You must possess a full driving licence, be able to travel and have access to your own transport.
