Main duties of the job

This is your chance to help shape the future of CYP mental health in Birmingham. Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.   We are looking for a dynamic Mental Health professional with at least one year of post-qualification experience in a children and young people (CYP) mental health setting. As a Trainee Supervising Practitioner, youll have the exciting opportunity to deliver training, evidence-based interventions, and consultations that make a real difference for children, young people, families, and educational staff.

In this role, youll be supported in honing your skills in CBT-informed supervision, empowering you to grow and excel. Once you achieve the essential competencies defined by Health Education England (HEE), youll embark on a PG Certificate in Clinical Supervision that will elevate your career.

And heres the best part: upon acceptance into the training program, youll advance to Band F, with a competitive salary range of £37,092 - £45,347. Plus, youll have the chance to engage in further training as required by the service, ensuring youre always at the forefront of the field.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Core professional qualification relevant to mental health e.g. nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work,EMHP.
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Willingness to complete post Graduate Certificate in Supervision

Desirable

  • Therapeutic post graduate qualification (preferably in CBT)
  • Post Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline

Experience

Essential

  • 1 years post qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and young people
  • Experience of working in a community and/or educational environment
  • Evidence of clinical development
  • Collaborative working
  • Experience of effective engagement with families and carers
  • Experience of working

Desirable

  • Experience of providing mentorship
  • Experience of delivering CBT informed supervision, ideally of practice related to education settings
