Job summary
To provide a professional efficient and effective Reception service to
patients and visitors attending a IPCAS Hub in accordance with the
organisations policies and standards relating to confidentiality and customer
care.
To
ensure patients details are accurately recorded and the relevant documentation
created to support safe patient care
This position is instrumental in creating a good first impression of
the organisation to patients and visitors.
Main duties of the job
The location of the role is Forton
Medical Centre, PO12 3JP and Waterlooville Health Centre, PO7 6AL.

About us
Southern Hampshire Primary Care Alliance (SHPCA) is a
federation of GP Practices reaching from Bordon, down the A3 corridor to
Fareham and Gosport, and across to Hayling Island. We have come together
to develop a sustainable, high quality, patient-focused primary care service
for our local communities including Clinical Assessment Service 111 First, Out
of Hours GP Extended Access, Virtual Ward, Covid Oximetry at Home, Phlebotomy
and Cardiology.
As a provider of unscheduled care services in the Fareham
and Gosport (F&G) and South East Hants areas, we have a constant need to
add to our bright and dynamic medical team to ensure we continue to deliver

Job responsibilities
1.1.
Open
IPCAS hub and set up IT systems and printers for clinical consultations and
reception.
1.2.
To
support all clinical colleagues to ensure IPCAS equipment boxes are signed in
and out and highlight if any items missing to the Hub Site lead.
1.3.
Process appointment requests both face to face and
over the telephone.
1.4. In a courteous and professional manner,
ascertain patients identification details and accurately check against EMIS.
1.5.
File correspondence and information as required.
1.6.
Assist in the collection of IPCAS specific outcome
data, i.e., Questionnaires and DNA Audits.
1.7.
Ensure there are adequate IPCAS supplies of
non-clinical items e.g., paper and prescription paper, escalate to Hub Site
Lead if needed.
1.8.
Assist in carrying equipment to clinician upon
request. This includes smaller items such as batteries for otoscopes through to
emergency equipment such as oxygen, resus bag or defib in a life-threatening
situation.
1.9.
Ensure safe and secure closure of building at end
of working session/day as per local SOP.
1.10.
Ensure that there is always access to emergency
equipment using guidance provided at both induction and local SOP.
1.11.
Ensure documents and correspondence are kept
available for all IPCAS sessions, (i.e., items such as accident book/ambulance
form/complaints and Incident Forms), to ensure full administration support is
supplied as and when required.
1.12.
Use of the clinical IT system for recording and
monitoring of patient information.
1.13.
Ensure safekeeping of Healthcare Computing/Southern
Health NHS Foundation Trust IT Hardware.
1.14.
Use of the NHS email system.
1.15.
Administration tasks are undertaken with care and
attention to detail.

Support
Operations team as required.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to GCSE or equivalent Grade A to C in Maths and English or equivalent experience.
Desirable
- NVQ 2 in Customer Service or relevant experience.
Skills & Capabilities

- Proficient in the use of IT and basic Office applications such as Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint.
- Proficient in navigating the Internet/Intranet.
