We have two exciting vacancies for Band 5 Nurses to join us on the Bank in our Inpatient Unit at Royal Trinity Hospice.

Main duties of the job
Responsibilities of a Royal Trinity Bank Hospice Nurse
Planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based nursing care for patients and their carers.
Anticipating the changing needs of patients and families.
Participating in IDT discussions that inform the management plan for patients.
Work closely with a wide and varied team of health care professionals.
Skills and experience required
Hold an up to date NMC registration.
Be competent across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
Show a passion for working with and supporting the needs of adults with a life-limiting condition, with a real commitment to delivering the highest level of care at all times.
Possess excellent communication skills.
Be eager to learn and develop yourself as a nurse.

- EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
- First level registered general nurse
- Willingness to take part in studies in specialist palliative care and develop their clinical experience
- SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrates the ability to assess complex needs of patients and plan, implement and evaluate appropriate nursing actions
- Demonstrates the ability to cope effectively with the demands of working in the hospice
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a nursing team
- EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrates an understanding of specialist palliative care/ oncology or other related field
- Demonstrates experience of working with a wider inter-disciplinary team
- OTHER
- Flexibility- able to respond flexibly to changing needs and priorities
- Well organized with good time management skills
- Commitment to professional development
- To have an understanding of, and an ability to promote equal opportunities in all areas of work
