Parenting Programmes Facilitator (Bank)

Seeking Qualified Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist (Child or Adult trained), CAMHS Clinician.

This is a remote, sessional role taking place during term-time only (minimum commitment: 2.5 hours per session including admin time).

This is an exciting new opportunity to facilitate online parent support groups at Brandon Centre. The groups support parents and carers of children and young people between the ages of 5 to 16 years-old. The aim of the groups is to create a supportive and safe environment for parents and carers who are impacted by the mental health of the children and young people they are responsible for. The groups help to bridge the gap between traditional mental health services for young people and parental support services in Camden and Islington.

The candidate for this role will be qualified and experienced in delivering parent groups, they should be aware of cultural sensitivities and be competent in recording and managing safeguarding concerns.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Brandon Centre team, and input on service design and development in our organisation.

A clinician who has a Microsoft Teams account and a strong and reliable internet connection is essential. A working space may be available within Brandon Centre premises if necessary.

Main duties of the job

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate weekly parenting group sessions (six in total).

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.

  • Use existing curriculum and materials to guide discussions and skill-building activities.

  • Monitor group dynamics and provide support to parents with a variety of needs.

  • Maintain clear and confidential attendance records in accordance with organisational policies.

  • Engage with the broader team (e.g. Parenting Programmes Lead).

  • Identify any concerns or safeguarding risks and follow organisational protocols for escalation.

  • Participate in training, debriefing, and termly meetings as required.
