Waltham Forest Federated GP Network

NEL Training Hub Digital Facilitation Team Manager

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

General practice has generally embraced information technology over the last three decades and the electronic GP-held record is arguably the most accurate and comprehensive patient record held in the NHS at present. In today’s digital world people expect to be able to interact with services through technology. While local and national digital strategies support this move to online interactions with initiatives such as online consultations, video consultations, NHS App, NHS Login, electronic prescription service, GP Online and access to patient-held records, little practical support has been provided to practices. In addition to interactions with patients, more digitally based interaction is expected with colleagues, for example through TQuest / Cyberlabs order communications, electronic referral service, CPCS, and east London Patient records. Access to support for using these tools is limited at best.

Main duties of the job

The Digital Facilitation Team Manager is expected to interact with senior managers, GP leaders and leaders in all organisations to determine the most pressing needs within general practice in each place/PCN, drawing on various sources of information about system usage in specific practices.

The postholder will ensure the work carried out by the team complements the work of others that are undertaking similar roles that might otherwise overlap, e.g. CEG facilitators, who support practices in using templates and using data to improve quality.

The postholder will have overall responsibility for the team; 2 team leaders and 14 Facilitators, ensuring the team delivers quality solutions and excellent service
