Overgate Hospice
The closing date is 30 March 2025
Job summary
Overgate Hospice is an independent charity with a mission to ensure that patients and those close to them live with the best possible quality of life. This is enabled by provision of the highest standard of compassionate and evidence-based specialist palliative and end of life care for adults in Calderdale who have active, progressive life limiting illness.
However, the current constraints of our ageing facilities are making this more difficult than ever. Our ambitious redevelopment plans will modernise and expand our existing facilities to transform the environment in which we care for our patients, as well as meaning we can care for more people who need us. In April 2024, Overgate Hospice launched a capital appeal, the Big Build Appeal, to raise the funds needed to make these transformational plans become a reality.
Main duties of the job
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing a high standard of specialist palliative care to patients and their families
About us
Overgate Hospice has been providing end-of-life care and support to people across Calderdale, and their families, for almost 40 years. As we look to continue our work, and expand to give more help than ever, we need a Registered Nurse to help us with our mission.
We have a plan in place that will help us prepare for the next phase of Overgates development, including a new, state of the art, Inpatient Unit. This will be both challenging and exciting. If you would like to be involved in shaping the future of this very special charity, please get in touch.
In order to deliver our plan we are searching for a Registered Nurse who has skills and experience to join our well established Inpatient Unit. You may have experience of palliative care, but experience in other settings is equally welcomed. You will be joining a dynamic team at a time of exciting change.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about high standards of care and shares our mission of delivering holistic, person centred care to our patients and families. We are a supportive team and provide high standards of nursing care to up to 12 patients. Our staffing establishment is responsive to ensure we meet patient needs. You will have a full induction with a named mentor and receive regular one to one support with the opportunity of attending regular clinical supervision.
