Job Summary

As a pivotal member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Director of Finance will provide expert financial guidance and strategic leadership to ensure Overgate Hospice utilises its financial resources effectively to achieve its long-term charitable objectives. This role demands excellence in financial governance, strategic planning, and organisational leadership. The Director of Finance will play a key role in shaping the overall vision and strategy of Overgate Hospice, collaborating with other SLT members to ensure the sustainability and growth of the organisation. This involves not only overseeing the finance function but also contributing to the broader organisational strategy and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture across all areas of the hospice.

Overgate Hospice has been at the heart of the Calderdale community for over 40 years and we are

here to help people with life-limiting illnesses. Our aim is to try and improve the quality of life for our patients and help them to live life to the full, to the very end. We do this by offering specialist palliative care, comfort and support, free of charge, to patients and their families. We are an independent charity, based in Elland, Halifax and rely heavily on funding from our local community to ensure our care is available for future generations.

Our care is centred on the patient. We respect individuality and each persons dignity and right to privacy.

We care for the whole person their physical, emotional, spiritual, social needs and goals. The care includes support for their families and carers through an individuals illness and into bereavement.

We care for people during the advanced stages of all life-limiting conditions, including cancer, heart failure, lung, kidney and neurological diseases.
