Location: Redbridge - Based in service with occasional travel to Central office (Please kindly note that unfortunately both locations do not have step free access)

Salary: £28,600

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday Rota between 08:00 - 21.30, 08:00 - 16:00, 13:30 - 21:30 

About the Role

We here at Social Interest Group (SIG) are looking for a Senior Support Coach to join one of our frontline teams delivering vital services to people experiencing mental health issues. youll take a lead in supporting participants with OPD (Offending Personality Disorder)  and related cognitive or behavioural challenges, many of whom have experienced institutional care or social exclusion.This is a great opportunity for someone ready to step up into a leadership role within a values-driven organisation that puts people first.

As a Senior Support Coach, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the service. Youll support residents and participants to achieve their personal goals around recovery and independent living. This will involve developing personalised support plans, conducting risk assessments, facilitating life skills sessions, and helping individuals access services, resources, and opportunities in their community. You will also be instrumental in creating a safe, inclusive, and psychologically informed environment (PIE) that promotes dignity, choice, and empowerment.

As a Senior, youll also act as a role model and mentor for your team, providing leadership when management are unavailable, supporting with guidance, reporting, and service delivery. Youll help ensure services remain inclusive, flexible, and person-centred, in line with SIGs Theory of Change.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering effective 1:1 and group-based support for residents/participants in line with support plans
  • Providing leadership, mentoring, and guidance to support staff, students, and volunteers
  • Acting as the first point of contact in the absence of management
  • Supporting the completion of risk assessments, welfare checks, support plans, and safeguarding referrals
  • Helping develop a welcoming, safe, and psychologically informed environment
  • Maintaining up-to-date, accurate case records and ensuring compliance with GDPR and safeguarding practices
  • Supporting property management tasks including reporting repairs, monitoring health & safety, and maintaining high accommodation standards
  • Supporting residents to access relevant networks, training, life skills, and community resources
  • Promoting resident participation in the design and running of service activities
  • Contributing to key service outcomes and KPIs
  • Working flexibly to meet the needs of the service and taking part in continuous improvement initiatives

You understand the importance of trauma-informed care and are ready to lead by example, both in your direct work with residents and in your support of colleagues across the team.

Youre able to manage competing priorities, respond calmly to crisis situations, and maintain professionalism under pressure. Youre not only a great listener and communicator youre someone who builds trust, encourages growth, and helps people feel heard and empowered.

  • Experienced in working with vulnerable people in a support, care, or housing setting
  • Proactive and solution-focused, able to identify and respond to challenges
  • A confident communicator who can build strong, purposeful relationships
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with strong administrative and record-keeping skills
  • Knowledgeable of safeguarding practices, risk management, and resident engagement
  • Emotionally intelligent, values-driven, and committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with a flexible approach
