Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to support Social Interest Group with an exciting new project/service which will be live in June 2023! Social Interest Group will start to work alongside Sodexo in HMP Altcourse to run the Visitors Centre and implement a programme of group work and family interventions that include Safe Grounds flagship relationships programmes Fathers Inside, Family Man, Man Up and The Thing Is.

Social Interest Group is currently in negotiation with the present providers of the Visitors Centre at HMP Altcourse about the TUPE of existing staff and discussions have started with Sodexo regarding the mobilisation of the contract.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure the service operates and delivers to the high standards of Social Interest Group, Safe Ground, Sodexo, and our other stakeholders.
  • Establish programmes as the core curriculum at HMP Altcourse, and ensure the Visitor Centre service requirements are met.
  • Develop strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake continuous improvement through consistent evaluation and monitoring of the services.
  • Be an active team player to support at service level day to day operational activities.

Management

  • Line Management duties will vary but take ownership of the employee lifecycle from Recruitment, Onboarding, Induction, Performance Management, KPI monitoring and Employee relations including sickness, grievances, and disciplinaries.
  • Promote a team working dynamic which is supportive and empowering.
  • Office Management including premises, online systems, and working environment.

Strategic

  • Take project management approach to setting up the contract and delivering the key milestones in the first 3 months of service delivery.
  • Liaise with relevant teams to create short, medium and long term strategic plan.
  • Keep abreast of political and social policy and developments

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.

You will establish and develop relationships with internal and external partners and agencies, liaising with the Senior Leadership Teams and Operational Staff within the organisations. In this role, you will create strategic plans for immediate, short, medium and long term delivery of the service.

We envisage this project will take 3 months, and then be handed over to the Family Services Manager.

Rota: Monday to Friday 9-5, with some flexibility to suit service demands.

Were looking for an individual with extensive experience and an understanding of the Criminal Justice Service, with excellent project management skills and a record of leading teams with change and transition within the Criminal Justice System. You will be an excellent manager, leader and project manager, with the skills and experience to support our culture and long term vision.
