Job summary

The CYP Wellbeing Team currently comprises of 8 staff, within a wider Youth Services team of about 40 staff. Existing CYP Wellbeing projects are funded by the CCG, national Mind and are bought in by education settings directly. Currently, our team provides services exclusively in schools and colleges, which falls within our strategy to deliver preventative and early intervention emotional wellbeing interventions and promoting a whole school approach to mental health in education settings. Existing services include psychoeducation, 1:1 practical wellbeing advice, youth Wellbeing Ambassadors, staff training and parent workshops.

Main duties of the job

To oversee the management of a portfolio of children and young people’s (CYP) (aged 5 -25) emotional wellbeing services in education settings, and community setting. The CYP Wellbeing Advice team projects Manager is responsible for maintaining and developing the existing portfolio of projects and services across the London boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. The CYP Wellbeing Service projects Manager also actively supports the Director and Deputy Director of Youth Services to identify and contribute to opportunities for growth across the service.

Job responsibilities

Project Management

  • Leading on the development of an operational plan for the service that takes into account staff capacity and project deliverables and timelines
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that service targets and deliverables are met across the different projects
  • Working collaboratively with the team to develop existing services to be responsive to emerging stakeholder needs and changing contexts and to be more effective in their impact
  • Working closely with the Team Coordinator and Database Officer to ensure that the appropriate data is collected and accurately recorded and stored, to ensure that services are relevant to the needs of stakeholders, meet identified service gaps and provide an evidence-base for service effectiveness
  • Identifying and developing suitable M&E tools and ensuring their effective implementation, including service review to identify where modifications to services are required
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the timely submission of quality reports to funders (and other stakeholders where required)
  • Leading on the annual CYP Wellbeing Service Impact report
  • Ensuring that services are developed and delivered across the team, in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and best practice

Staff Management

  • Providing line-management to frontline workers on the CYP Wellbeing Team
  • Providing ongoing feedback and support to the team, as well as monthly line-management 1:1s
  • Managing safeguarding support to frontline workers on the CYP Wellbeing Team
  • Supporting the professional development of team members, both individually and collectively
  • Supporting and promoting team wellbeing
  • Leading on regular strategic team meetings
  • Attending monthly 1:1 line-management meetings and managers’ meetings

Partnership Working

  • Supporting the identification and engagement of suitable partners and funders for new projects
  • Leading on engagement with key stakeholders, including funders and partner organisations
  • Supporting the Team Coordinator to schedule and coordinate services across education settings where projects are being delivered
  • Ensuring that partners adhere to safeguarding, suicide prevention and GDPR principles and best practice
  • Overseeing the development and delivery of co-produced services
  • Leading on embedding service user engagement across the team’s operational processes
  • Representing the organisation and the Youth Services Team at conferences, meetings and events

Supporting Growth and Development

  • Inputting into the Youth Services strategy and business plan and leading on coordinating the CYP Wellbeing Team’s and other service stakeholders’ input, where relevant
  • Supporting the development of project ideas and proposals to maintain and grow existing services

Training

  • Completing mandatory organisational training
  • Ensuring that those under direct line-management complete mandatory organisational training
  • Attending relevant training opportunities for professional development
  • Supporting individual and collective team training opportunities for professional development

Administration

  • Working closely with the Youth Services Business Support Administrator to ensure effective administrative systems are in place to support the smooth running of the CYP Wellbeing Service and wider Youth Services
  • Developing SLAs for partnership working

  • Travelling across boroughs within London (predominantly Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Ealing and Hounslow but may also include other London boroughs)

Essential

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum two years experience of working with vulnerable young people (e.g CYP with experiencing mental health difficulties)
  • Experience in bid writing and proposals to bring in contracts
  • Highly developed, well-articulated expertise in team management across different projects
  • A track record of delivering accountable services and excellent performance against agreed targets and objectives
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with a range of stakeholders (service users, funders, partners)
  • Substantial experience of collating quality data for the performance of a service and writing reports
  • Working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding
  • Minimum two years experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience working in schools/in partnership with schools
  • Experience of line-management and developing staff

Desirable

  • Experience working in a charity setting
  • Experience in bid writing and proposals to bring in contracts
  • Experience using Views and IAPTUS client-record systems

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to at least degree level
  • Relevant qualifications to this role (e.g qualifications in Project management, Business, development management)
