Job summary
The post holder will lead practice development and education within the
clinical workforce through work based learning, training, clinical
support, and program design, supporting nursing staff, associates,
HCSWs, and students at Rotherham Hospice.
They will ensure clinical staff maintain skills and knowledge to deliver
exceptional end of life and specialist palliative care. As a role model,
they will provide high quality nursing care and promote best practices to
enhance patient outcomes.
Working with the Training and Development
Manager, they will help create a productive
learning environment and collaborate with
senior staff to deliver tailored induction and
development programs
Main duties of the job
Deliver training sessions, which are reflective of the hospices policies and
procedures. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate to improve and ensure the
provision of high quality clinical skills training, under direction and supervision
of the Training and Development Manager.
Ensure the process of clinical skills teaching and assessment is based on
procedure learning supervised practice and assessment.
Deliver simulated practical clinical skills sessions, relating theory to practice for
students and learners, Nursing Associates, Nurses, and other members of the
multidisciplinary team, within the organisation, using inter-personal skills and
effective communication to overcome any barriers to learning under direction
of the Training and Development Manager.
As part of the assessment process, observe staff undertaking clinical skills
procedures in the clinical environment.

- Maintain a duty and responsibility to comply with all components of the
Hospices Data Quality and information risk policies, ensuring compliance with
any specific role responsibilities outlined within these.
