Job summary

Are you ready to take your event management skills to the next level in a role that truly matters? Were looking for a passionate and experienced Events Lead to join our Psychotherapeutic Team and help create unforgettable experiences for the children and families we support on a temporary basis of up to 12 months.

Main duties of the job

In this rewarding role, youll take the lead on planning and delivering a vibrant calendar of both virtual and in-person Family Events. Working closely with our dedicated Nursing Care, Family Liaison, Creative Therapies, and Bereavement Teams, youll ensure every event is meaningful, memorable, and delivered with care.

Essential

  • Graduate-level degree or equivalent, with event management experience, preferably in
  • healthcare.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing both personal workload and event responsibilities.
  • Efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and
  • deadlines in an events environment
  • Strong leadership skills, including experience in supervising staff or volunteers
  • Proficient in IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experienced in
  • communicating
  • with stakeholders through use of a range of digital platforms including engagement and email
  • marketing software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in managing diverse stakeholders and working across teams to achieve event objectives
  • Ability to write proposals, participation roles, briefings, and manage event data for trend
  • analysis and report compilation
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends occasionally to meet service needs.
  • Demonstrate close alignment to all Demelza values.
  • This role requires regular travel across our operating region. Full driving licence and access to
  • own vehicle for business use or access to reliable transport arrangements - will be essential.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and associated financial processes.
  • A creative and compassionate mindset to develop events that are engaging, uplifting, and

  • Excellent attention to detail in proofreading communications and documentation.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and
  • volunteers while maintaining sensitivity to the hospice environment
