Do you have strong IT skills and a passion for helping people reach their potential?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate IT Tutor who is confident in using their technical knowledge to inspire and empower learners. The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and committed to helping people with complex mental health needs build skills, confidence, and independence. You will be able to create engaging, accessible lessons, support learners to achieve their training goals, and encourage their personal strategies for recovery and wellbeing. Strong communication skills, an ability to motivate others, and a genuine passion for using IT as a tool for positive change are essential. An eDCC/ EDCL qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, alongside an Enhanced DBS check.

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering accredited IT training courses and supplementary workshops within West Central London Minds Skills Development Service. By working collaboratively with our dedicated team of tutors, care professionals, and community partners, you will support learners to gain valuable work-related skills and qualifications, progress toward further education or employment, and expand their confidence through creative and recovery-focused activities.

Main duties of the job

You will:

  • Deliver engaging IT training courses and workshops that build learners skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Support individuals with complex mental health needs to set personal learning goals and progress towards further education, employment, or vocational opportunities.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different abilities, cultural backgrounds, and learning styles, ensuring accessibility and inclusion at every stage.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow tutors, care professionals, and community partners to provide coordinated, recovery-focused support.
  • Encourage learners to develop strategies for maintaining wellbeing alongside their training and skills development.
  • Contribute to expanding and improving the Skills Development Service, helping to shape opportunities that empower people to reach their potential.

You are:

  • Skilled and knowledgeable in IT, with the ability to teach digital skills in an engaging and accessible way.
  • Passionate about empowering people with mental health needs to build confidence, independence, and new opportunities.
  • An effective communicator, patient, and able to adapt your teaching style to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Eager to make a difference, bringing empathy, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills to your work.
  • Organised, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement in your own practice and within the team.
