Job summary

Coventry and Warwickshire Mind is looking for a full-time Housekeeper to work within our Housing Support Service.

Main duties of the job

We manage a wide range of properties, which are located in various parts of Coventry and consist of single flats/bedsits and a number of shared houses for 28 people. The Housing Support Service matches a person to an appropriate property, and then provides practical and emotional support to enable the person to maintain and sustain their tenancy.

About The Role:

To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMOs) to include all communal areas, bathrooms/toilets, kitchens etc. Also to liaise with staff to help service users who are struggling to keep their environment clean and tidy.

You will also provide guidance and support to clients undertaking their own cleaning but who are struggling either physically or with their mental health

Key Responsibilities include:

  • To ensure the cleanliness of the communal areas of all HMOs working to a timetable.
  • Your main responsibilities will be to carry out a range of cleaning activities including vacuuming, mopping, polishing, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
  • To ensure the correct use of chemicals for the type of surface and finish required, making sure the handling and usage of such are in line with COSHH regulations.
  • To work alongside the Housing Support Workers in order to support service users.
  • To check on properties if client is in hospital (fridges, cupboards etc).
  • Keeping a stock inventory and ordering materials.
  • To travel across Coventry to various community sites.
  • The post holder will be required to use cleaning equipment and at times move furniture in order to clean the property.

Essential criteria include:

  • Proven track record of working as a cleaner within a domestic setting.
  • Excellent housekeeping skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Compassionate and non-judgemental.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail at all times.
  • Reliable and Punctual.
  • An ability to travel to venues across Coventry.
  • Must have access to a vehicle as means of transport.
