Job Details: Coventry and Warwickshire Mind
Job Title: Supported Self Help (Active Monitoring) Practitioner.
Location: Remote some travel around the region will be required.
Salary: £20,827 per annum (£25,687 FTE).
Hours: 30 hours per week, to be worked flexibly, potentially including some evening and weekend work
Job type: Permanent.

About the Role:
Coventry and Warwickshire Mind is looking for one part-time (0.8fte) Supported Self Help Practitioner to support our brand-new Supported Self Help project. The successful applicants will work closely with the Service Manager and the Supported Self Help team to deliver the programme to residents of Coventry and Warwickshire

About the service:
Supported Self Help (previously known as Active Monitoring) is a tried and tested early intervention service, developed by Mind and designed to improve the mental health and wellbeing of adults. It is a guided self-help programme facilitated by trained and supervised Mental Health Practitioners. The service aims to support people to improve their lives by developing key skills and strategies to manage their own health and wellbeing.
Beneficiaries attend an introductory meeting with the Practitioner where they discuss their support needs and the appropriateness of Supported Self Help. They then select one of seven pathways, including anxiety and panic attacks, low mood, low self-esteem, stress, grief and loss, feeling alone and managing anger. Five further sessions are provided, during which they work through the pathways and put together a toolkit of resources that work best for them
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of Supported Self Help (Active Monitoring) clients.
- Work with people to overcome early signs of mental health distress, such as anxiety, depression and stress.
- Follow a set programme in providing graded exposure via a facilitated self-help model, including referring people to higher levels of intervention when required and/or signposting to other services that might help them to maintain wellbeing.
- Deliver an effective service to meet set targets of the contract.
- Establish positive client engagement and input, as well as being involved in promoting general aspects of well-being.
- Maintain records of clients personal data and wellbeing outcomes, as agreed with programme managers, to support the running of this programme.
- Manage all administration processes accurately and efficiently.
- Undergo any training relevant to the role either internally or externally, most importantly the Active Monitoring training provided by national Mind.
- Promote the concepts of social inclusion, early intervention and recovery and ensure this underpins the direction of Active Monitoring activities.
- Keep abreast of local services relating to well-being.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key partner agencies and programme staff.
Essential criteria:
- Able to motivate people to engage in self-help activities.
- IT literate, including Office 365.
- Able to manage and achieve targets including data collection and input.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to prioritise, managing a varied workload and time effectively.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Able to manage professional boundaries, deal with sensitive information, and maintain confidentiality.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to work in a recovery orientated, person centred, non-judgemental manner.
- Be prepared to travel across Coventry and Warwickshire.
- Able to work some evenings and weekend with prior agreement.
