As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within our NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Talking Therapies service, you'll assess and support adults who are experiencing common mental health difficulties such as mild to moderate symptoms of depression, anxiety and low mood. You'll typically work with clients on a one-to-one basis, in groups or/and provide support for an eTherapy programme.
You will work alongside other PWPs, e-Therapists, & Counsellors within
a stepped care model to provide a range of NICE approved low intensity
interventions for common mental health problems. Treatment will be delivered through a range of modalities including
face-to-face work, telephone therapy, eTherapy and facilitating structured
groups. This role is hybrid, with a mixture of home working,
office based work and work in the community.
Successful
candidates will be skilled in delivering low intensity therapy, with the
ability to organise and prioritise their own workload, and will have
successfully completed an approved IAPT PWP Post Graduate Certificate (or be
near to qualification with all elements of the course succesfully passed/on
track to qualify on time) and must be BABCP or BPS registered.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities are to provide disorder specific assessments and evidence-based
low intensity interventions for people with anxiety disorders and/or depression. Offer
a wide range of treatments, including telephone and online treatment.
You will:
- Manage a case load of clients.
- Provide assessment and Low intensity interventions to clients drawing from
CBT theories and techniques. This work may be face to face, telephone,
group, or via other media.
- Deliver a range of evidence based one-to-one or group interventions.
- Support events within the community.
- Promote the service, and where necessary to generate referrals.
