Job summary

We are looking for 4 Trainee High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to join our Talking Therapies service in Eastern Cheshire on a one year contract.

The post holder will work alongside a team of psychological wellbeing practitioners, counsellors and CBT Therapists, within a stepped care model, to provide a range of NICE approved interventions for common mental health disorders. There will be a mixture of homeworking, attending clinics within East Cheshire and attending lectures at Chester University.

Main duties of the job

This is a training post and the university course will be the Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity CBT course at Chester University. The start date for this post will be early November. We will provide access to high quality supervision alongside supervision at the University.

The required qualification/core profession is needed in order to apply. Where applicable, a completed KSA will be expected at interview. The successful candidate must be motivated with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload. Experience of working within an NHS Talking Therapies service OR other mental health settings is essential.

  • Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) will need a KSA.

Experience

Essential

  • 1.1 Experience of working with people with common mental health difficulties including depression and anxiety
  • 1.2 Experience of managing a caseload of clients and keeping up to date records using a database
  • 1.3 Experience of working with individuals (1-2-1) and groups of people in different settings to help them achieve their goals
  • 1.4 Experience of working with a range of agencies and organisations to develop effective working relationships
  • 1.5 Experience of delivering CBT to clients experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems (desirable but not essential)
  • 1.6 Experience of working within an NHS Talking Therapies (formally IAPT) service (desirable but not essential)
  • 1.7 Experience of assessing and managing risk of harm to self and others including safeguarding concerns.
  • 1.8 Typically a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience relating to your core profession (Nurse, Counsellor, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist etc). This is essential for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners.
