Job summary

We are looking for a total of 11 Trainee High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapists on a 1 year contract.

We are looking for 4 trainees  to join the Talking Therapies service in Eastern Cheshire. The post holder will work alongside a team of psychological wellbeing practitioners, counsellors and CBT Therapists, within a stepped care model to provide a range of NICE approved interventions for common mental health disorders. There will be a mixture of homeworking and attending clinics within East Cheshire.

We are also looking for 7 Trainee High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to join a remote service which covers part of Manchester.

This post is a training post and the university course will be the Post Graduate Diploma in CBT (High Intensity) course at Chester University. The start date for this post will be early November. The course starts 22nd November 2022. We will provide access to high quality supervision.

The successful candidate must be motivated with the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload. Experience of working within an IAPT service or other mental health settings is essential. Where applicable, a completed KSA will be expected at interview.

Main duties of the job

1. To work within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service providing High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training

2. To work with clients who have a range of complex Anxiety and Depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective

3. To work with a diverse range of people with different cultural backgrounds and ages

The charity currently delivers a range of services including self help support groups, cCBT services, counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The charity is funded by various NHS Trusts and works across the North West with the head office based in Hulme, Manchester.

  • - Experience of managing a caseload of clients and keeping up to date records using a database
  • - Experience of working with individuals (1-2-1) and groups of people in different settings to help them achieve their goals
  • - Experience of working with a range of agencies and organisations to develop effective working relationships
  • i. Experience working with people with mental health difficulties including anxiety and depression

Desirable

  • - Experience of delivering CBT to clients experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems.
