Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to work with Wandsworth GP practices and primary care networks employed by the Wandsworth GP Federation as a Primary Care IT and Digital Trainer.

The Primary Care IT and Digital Trainer will be responsible for supporting primary care workforce colleagues upskilling to maximise their knowledge in the use of IT tools within EMIS and other primary care platforms that are used.

The post holder will

Act as a support as well as provide training to practice teams promoting and training them in the use of clinical systems and platforms used as well as training in digital products.

Provide training on a 1-1 basis, at practice or PCN level as required and based on training needs analysis.

Act as a trouble-shooter for digital products issues and problems at practice and PCN level. Identify areas for system exploitation and support at scale rollouts of these.

Support the delivery of projects and work packages to meet business needs and deliver agreed benefits by effectively utilising the necessary resources and skills.

Be responsible for building effective working relationships with Primary Care colleagues and other stakeholders to influence training engagement delivery.

The role will require an agile work approach with good problem-solving skills, working collaboratively with the PCNs and GP practices across Wandsworth and the Wandsworth GP Federation.

Main duties of the job

Co-ordinate the use of GP clinical systems and digital technologies within primary care, in order to support improvements to the health of the local population and to support the general management of patients and practices.

Identify and support provision of EMIS training to help further develop the primary care workforce, e.g. building searches and running reports.

Identify and support training in other practice-based platforms that are used such as workflow management packages.

Support and give guidance to practices regarding practice websites using NHS guidance to improve usability and accessibility across all sites.

Support practices and staff to effectively use existing and new technology systems and products to enable ongoing improvement.

Work alongside the PCN Digital lead for Primary Care Wandsworth.

Service Development and Delivery

Support training for new approved IT/Digital projects not limited to Primary Care, working with other Wandsworth GP Federation colleagues such as finance, governance, BI.

Supporting any digital projects which are being delivered by the Wandsworth GP Federation for Primary Care as and when required.

Quality

Understanding of quality improvement, process development and improvement; automation and facilitate the implementation of agreed solutions at scale across practices and PCNs.

Finance

Identify any potential areas of improvement in relation to service value for money and savings for practices.

Wandsworth GP Federation operates a system of individual performance review/appraisal for the purpose of agreeing performance objectives and discussing development needs in line with requirements of service need in the operational plan.
