Job summary

BHCIC has identified the need to strengthen our strategic and operational communications capacity over the next 18-24 months.

The post holder will take the lead in developing our communication strategy, support a rebranding of the organisation and positively promote our ongoing work, achievements and contribution to the delivery of local health & care services in Wandsworth more extensively.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and innovative communications lead to join our management team and take forward this challenging programme of work in close collaboration with colleagues within the organisation and external partners.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the preparation and implementation of a communications strategy to align with the wider strategic development of the organisation;

Develop, prepare and implement a corporate brand for the organisation;

Be responsible for the preparation and publication of communications materials, publications and content across diverse media that promote the organisation and inform patients/stakeholders of the services, work and achievements of BHCIC;

Support BHCIC Patient Engagement & Involvement leads in the effective communications of the role, purpose & priorities of the organisation and offer practical support for engagement events and initiatives;

Provide direct communications support to the Wandsworth Integrated Care Programme and associated multi-agency engagement requirements;

Establish and implement standards & protocols of best practice for corporate communications to be applied consistently across the organisation; support team members in working to meet the agreed standards;

Prepare a plan for building a social media presence for BHCIC & implement following agreement from the Management Team.

Actively build and contribute to a network of communications leads from across partner agencies and support the communications surrounding collaborative initiatives with other local health & care providers, media campaigns, and addressing priority service issues.

Battersea Healthcare Community Interest Company (BHCIC) is a GP practice-owned community interest company established to support and develop local general practice and to provide quality healthcare for all the people of Wandsworth.We have a track record of providing patient focused healthcare services, while working to improve the capability of the Wandsworth healthcare system to provide better services for its patients.

BHCIC is the lead provider for the Multi-specialty Community Provider (MCP) in Wandsworth, integrating primary and community health & care services in the borough.

BHCIC has built collaborative working relationships with the 9 local Primary Care Networks, operating together as Primary Care Wandsworth, to ensure a strong voice and influence for primary care at a local level. BHCIC is also a founder member of the South West London (SWL) Primary Care Provider Alliance, a strategic collaboration of the 6 GP Federations within SWL.
