Job summary
We have two positions available.
31.5 hours per week and 21 hour per week.
Night Shift pattern: 21:00 to 07:30.
£19.35 per hour up to £21.35 with enhancements.
A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.
Due to lack of public transport to Newlands House, you will need access to transport or you will live in the Netherseal area.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse with Leonard Cheshire youll be responsible and accountable for providing the highest standards of nursing, clinical and personal support, while promoting independence and choice to our customers. Leading a team of support staff you will ensure the smooth and efficient management of the shift, prioritising, planning and delegating activities for the support team.
You will:
- Be a registered nurse (current registration with NMC).
- Have thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a qualified nurse (level 5).
- Be able to demonstrate effective nursing practice in all basic registered nurse procedures.
- Work flexibly within rostered hours and on-call rota as required.

- Any other level of professional development and registration as indicated by

- To have a thorough understanding of assessing clinical and personal support
- needs and how to write and review comprehensive personalised support plans to
- include risk assessment.
- To have a first aid qualification would be advantageous.
- To have experience of providing direct personal and social support (to have prior
- experience of working with people who have physical and/or learning disabilities
- would be advantageous).
- To have experience of supervising a team of staff would be advantageous.
- To be able to work flexibly within rostered hours and participate in the on-call rota
- as required.
