Practice Placement Facilitator

Job responsibilities

• To work collaboratively with education providers in monitoring the quality of existing and new placements
• Work across organizational boundaries to develop placements that will that will enhance the student learning experience.
• Work in partnership with education providers to ensure placement areas meet NMC, and other professional bodies standards for practice placements.
• Work in partnership with practices to ensure Education Audits of placements are undertaken as required and develop action plans where standards are not met.
• Communicate with the workforce lead on change processes which are sensitive in nature and can affect service developments.
• Makes presentations/contributions to large multi-professional groups, and at local and regional conferences.
• Be able to respond to unpredictable situations in a manner that maintains working relationships.

Sharing knowledge and good practice from outside learning within the wider team

Working with management on any new training requirements

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

• A minimum of 2 years experience working in general practice.
• To have had experience working with students.

Desirable

• A knowledge of ARRS student supervision.
• Experience with project management.

Qualifications

Essential

• Current NMC registration.
• Practice Supervisor training

Desirable

• Practice assessor qualification, or the willingness to study.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Skills

Essential

• Able to work autonomously and to be able to coordinate student schedules across multiple sites.
• Effective teamwork and problem solving.
• Self motivated and passionate about supporting learners in general practice.
• Excellent communicator, all the NGPS values stuff if you can!

Desirable

• To think creatively on how to engage learners and our member practices to engage with student education.
• An awareness of different learning and motivation styles.
