GP Practice Finance Manager

Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of financial planning and oversight across four GP practices. The post holder will work closely with Clinical Directors / Senior Leadership teams and wider finance team to ensure the practices are financially sustainable by maximising income and minimising expenditure. The post holder will play key role in advising and supporting the practices to develop sound basis for planning and developing service changes.

Main duties of the job

To support General practices with setting budget forecast reports, process for monitoring and managing yearly.

To ensure practices have maximised income potential from QOF / LES / DES /PCN and any other supplementary services to the Global sum contract.

To benchmark our practices financial performance against similar size / demographic practices locally, nationally, and internally.

We are a non-profit company, with a passion for primary care. We have a wide range of services such as hub-based GPs services, GP surgeries, services in Urgent Care Centres and A&E, a Community Primary Care mental health service, GP staff training service and the list is growing all the time.

We are formed by a federation of General Practitioners working in Canterbury and South Kent Coast areas of East Kent.

Our aim is to provide local, high quality services for local people by collaborating with other established organisations in the health and social care community.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified Accountancy Qualification within the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) including meeting competency requirements in the form of specific work experience as required by CCAB where applicable
  • Evidence of Personal Development including demonstrated compliance with accountancy bodies CPD where applicable

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of working in a financial management/accounting role.
  • Experience of working in a changing environment.
  • Experience of influencing, training, and supporting staff at all levels.
  • Able to prioritise significant workloads and resource them in response to changing demands and requirements
  • Experience of being creative and innovative, proposing changes to working practices and procedures, as well as implementing agreed policies.
