Job summary

Every moment counts. Every memory matters. Come and join our nursing team as a Senior Team Nurse (Band 7 Equivalent) and provide exceptional care and support to children with life limiting and life threatening conditions. This role is a 35 hours per week permanent contract, we may consider part time but a minimum contract of 28 hours per week is required. Sample rotas can be found in 'Documents' at the bottom of this page.

Main duties of the job

You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative as well as accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team. You will have experience in clinical nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence based. You will have the experience and expertise to deliver safe care to children and young people with complex needs that will often change. You will feel confident in using your clinical judgement and making autonomous decisions about nursing care requirements. You will participate in an on-call rota system to provide telephone advice for staff and families. You will have Day-to-day management of the client base, including the deployment, supervision and teaching of Nurses and Care Team members.

When a family finds out that their child has a very serious medical condition, which is life-limiting or life-threatening, their world falls apart.   • Applicants for this role must have RSCN/RN (Child Branch) - Diploma or Degree, and relevant post qualification experience of working with children with complex needs. Mentorship course, ENB 998 or equivalent and Safeguarding Awareness level 3.
