Julia's House Dorset and Wiltshire Children's Hospices is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and we are now seeking an Emotional Health and wellbeing practitioner to join our dedicated team.You will be based at either our Dorset Hospice or our Wiltshire Hospice and work across both counties, in the hospices and in the homes of the children we look after.
This will be a rewarding role for anyone wishing to make a difference to the health and emotional wellbeing of the complex needs children, young people and their families Julias House supports with regular respite and End of Life care.
Main duties of the job
Applicants will be from a Nursing, Allied Health Care Professional, Social Work or Counselling background who are Qualified to Degree level or equivalent with relevant post-qualification experience at Band 6 or equivalent level.
As the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Practitioner you will have the chance to make a vital contribution to the delivery of evidence-based support to not only our service users but our staff. You will provide individualised and group support and continue to improve the Health and Wellbeing for our children and families.
About us
This position will be based at either our Wimborne office and our hospice in Corfe Mullen or our Devizes hospice, with travel across both counties.
A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential. Flexibility in working hours will also be required in this role.

Job responsibilities
Oversee the planning and running of Emotional Health and Wellbeing (EHW) activities across the Care service coordinating with the rest of the care service.
Work within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and other relevant national standards; help maintain accurate records of methods, evidence of policies and the monitoring of procedures for inspection.
Manage the Family Worker, Complementary Therapists and any contracted therapists and volunteers.
Triage and assess referrals with any emotional health or wellbeing concerns and other vulnerabilities and support or refer on as appropriate.
Support individuals on a one to one basis to develop their emotional health and well-being along with onward referrals as appropriate.
Liaise with internal and external services to support individuals with their onward referral.
Attend multiagency meetings, as required ensuring all follow up is actioned appropriately.
Manage the EHW budget and resources to ensure that the services are delivered in the most effective way.
Assist with the high standard of holistic care (physical, psychological, social and spiritual), provided by the Care Team Members of Julias House Hospice as appropriate
Promote and maintain close relations and liaison with all staff at Julias House and all other agencies involved in the care of the children, young people and families we support.
Assess the needs of individuals and families to then plan, develop and continue to deliver a service that provides them with access to the Emotional Health and Wellbeing support which they require, in line with service criteria.
Support line manages in their day-to-day time management to ensure best value for the families and the service.
Develop and implement audit tools to monitor the effectiveness of the service and measure service satisfaction levels.
Provide emotional support, advice and guidance to care staff, children young people and their families, working closely with the Clinical care staff and external agencies to proactively break down barriers to their personal development whilst safeguarding them.
