An exciting
opportunity has arisen for an experienced or aspirational Head of Nursing to
join the senior leadership team at East Anglias Childrens Hospices (EACH).
This role offers flexibility to work from any of our three hospices at Milton
near Cambridge, The Treehouse in Ipswich and The Nook, near Norwich, combined
with hybrid working. Flexible working will also be considered.
EACH provides
specialist care for babies, children and young people with life-threatening
conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and their
families. All three of our hospices are rated as Outstanding by the Care
Quality Commission (CQC).
We are currently
caring for over 350 families with children needing palliative and end of life
care and are providing support to more than 200 bereaved families. Our full and
diverse range of services includes: nursing care, specialist symptom
management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, counselling &
therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, and volunteer services in
the home; all meeting the individual needs of the baby, child, young person and
their whole family.
Main duties of the job
EACH also hosts the regional Managed Clinical Network of Medical and Nursing Consultants, who provide 24/7 access to specialist level advice across the region.

If you are a highly experienced Care Leader with a strong record of needs-led childrens service transformation and collaborative working (ideally within palliative care or paediatrics), and are someone with inspirational leadership, enthusiasm, passion and drive to support the team to be the best they can be, wed love to hear from you.
The Head of Nursing plays a lead role in the development and operational delivery of evidence-based, personalised family-centred care services, in collaboration with families and care system partners including providers, commissioners and the CQC.
We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and who has expertise around managing care services, ideally in a hospice service setting, as well as possessing strong strategic leadership capability with a passion to drive change to benefit those who need our care.
You will be an experienced senior nurse, at least Matron level, with specialist training and experience in end of life/palliative care for children, as well as qualified in diagnostics and prescribing.

As a member of theSenior Leadership Team, you will have a strong visible presence and will report to, and on occasion deputise for, the Director of Care, and work closely with a supportive senior leadership team with leadership responsibility for a Care Directorate team of 150 employees.
