About the role

As Consultant Nurse (Frailty), you will be a visible expert clinical leader, working with a high degree of autonomy and authority across our community, virtual ward and inpatient services.

You will:

  • Lead and advance frailtyfocused palliative care practice, ensuring care is personcentred, evidencebased and equitable
  • Provide consultantlevel clinical expertise to patients, families and colleagues in highly complex situations
  • Shape service models, pathways and standards that respond to population health needs and national priorities
  • Influence practice beyond St Christophers through system leadership, partnerships and professional networks
  • Play a key role in education, research, innovation and workforce development, helping to grow the next generation of advanced and consultant nurses

You will work alongside Consultant Medical colleagues as an equal clinical leader, contributing to shared leadership, organisational strategy and quality governance.

  • Is an experienced palliative care registered nurse with recognised expertise in frailty and dementia
  • Works confidently at consultant or advanced practice level, with independent prescribing
  • Is credible, influential and passionate about improving care for people living with frailty and dementia
  • Has experience of service development, education and quality improvement
  • Is motivated by collaboration, innovation and compassionate leadership

You will be NMC registered, educated to Masters level (doctorate desirable), and able to demonstrate sustained professional impact beyond your immediate service.
