Job responsibilities

Volunteer Development Coordinator

Salary: £30,727 (FTE) 

Contract/Hours: Permanent, 22.5 hours per week. Part time 3 days per week (flexibility on days)

Location: Hybrid Office base at Sydenham, South London (with 1 day working from home)

St Christophers is a modern, friendly and vibrant place offering world class palliative and end of life care as well as invaluable support to over 7,000 people across Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.

The Volunteering Team support with all areas of volunteering, including recruitment, onboarding, problem solving, and the reward and recognition of volunteers. With over 1,200 volunteers at present, we strive to offer the best possible experience for all volunteers. 

We are looking for an excellent communicator to provide ongoing support and development to St Christophers volunteers. You will need to be a good listener with the ability to quickly establish good relationships with various stakeholders. You will have a good understanding of volunteering best practice and experience of facilitating training. Your enthusiasm for volunteering and attention to detail will help create engaging communications and updates, ensuring that volunteers feel thanked and valued. 

This position has the potential for you to grow and develop a variety of skills and in-depth knowledge of volunteer development and management. You will be working as part of a small and supportive team which sits within the People Directorate.
