Main duties of the job

Undertake personal care (including stoma care) and feeding of patients (including peg feeding)

Perform light domestic duties and food preparation and essentials shopping

Patient Moving and handling

Assess patient needs and feedback to the Ward Manager

Collect information to help plan care

Assist the patient to take medication as agreed in the care plan

Recognise own limitations and refer on to other professionals as appropriate

Assist in the induction of new Health Care Assistants as directed by Ward Manager

Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding are maintained with vulnerable adults and within the service

Participate regularly in meetings at the hospice

Carry out delegated duties, in particular:

Take an active part in agreed learning activities and record them
