Job summary

Following its opening in 2019, the Peninsula Heart Clinic is an independently operated cardiology centre in partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Treatment at the Peninsula Heart Clinic is delivered through a brand new, state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab, 5-bed recovery, 5-chair radial lounge, 3 individual ensuite bedrooms and extensive outpatient clinic facilities.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a number of different clinical areas. This include the following:

- providing post procedure care to patients following diagnostic and interventional procedures including cardiac angiography, angioplasty (PCI), device implantation and electrophysiology & ablation procedures;

- supporting a day-case cardioversion service; - preassessment of all of our patients; and

- rotation through the cardiac catheter lab, including full training for nurses without this prior experience.

You will be required to promote and maintain a caring and highly professional standard of nursing, meeting the needs of the patients pre and post cath lab procedures. You will act as a professional role model. The successful candidate will be an RGN (min 2 yrs experience in a cardiology setting), will be ILS trained and will have an awareness of how to deal with cardiac emergencies and post cath-lab-procedure complications.

To be part of a multi-disciplinary team caring for elective cardiac patients undergoing Day Case procedures.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a number of different clinical areas. This includes the following:

- providing post procedure care to patients following diagnostic and interventional procedures including cardiac angiography, angioplasty (PCI), device implantation and electrophysiology & ablation procedures;
