Birmingham Hospice our teams are committed to improving the quality of life for
people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their
families and loved ones during one of the most challenging periods they will
ever face.
We
have an opportunity for a part time caring, compassionate, and committed Health Care
Assistants (HCA) to join our In-Patient Unit Team at our Selly Park Hospice working 24 hours per week.
As an HCA you will work as member of a multidisciplinary to team to
deliver hands-on high-quality palliative and end of life care to our patients
and their families in accordance with our values. You will be required to have competent
clinical skills to ensure a safe environment for our patients and their
families. You will also need to be sensitive
to the spiritual, psychological and social needs of our patients and their
families.
Our requirements:
Level 2 NVQ in health or social care or show a willingness to work towards.
Experience of working in a care role in the health care sector and/or other care related experience
Competent in English and Maths (up to GCSE level or equivalent)
The ability to work flexibly over a 7-day rota and multi-site work
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Competent IT skills including use of databases, email, and Word

Job purpose
