Job summary
John Taylor Hospice are looking to recruit a Speciality Doctor in Palliative Care.
You will provide a supporting role in the clinical care of
patients and families across in-patient, day hospice and community settings.
You will support the education programmes and governance
needs of the in-patient unit.
John Taylor Hospice will support the post holder to develop experience of
Palliative Medicine and enhance skills in end of life care.
Main duties of the job
This post has been developed to ensure consistent service delivery alongside Palliative medicine Consultants, Nurse Consultant, Advanced Nurse practitioner, other specialty doctors and the rest of the multi-disciplinary team.
The post is full time plus 1 in 5 on call commitment (attracting 1 additional PA
plus a 4% availability supplement) although applications from anyone wishing to work less than full time will also be considered.
John Taylor Hospice Specialty Doctor pay scale (see appendix 1 in job
description). Pay point dependent on experience.

collaboration with the consultants, medical and nursing colleagues, and the
wider multidisciplinary team.
This role would suit any
individual who is considering a career in Palliative Medicine and would like to
gain an in-depth experience, whilst also capitalising on opportunities in audit
and research to boost application to specialty training.
Supervision and teaching
will be provided formally and informally by the Consultant team. There will be
an opportunity to gain experience in the Day Therapy Unit and hospital and
community palliative care experience can be arranged. In addition, dedicated
SPA (Supporting Professional Activity) is offered within the job plan.
