About us
Rossendale Hospice first opened its doors in 1988 to provide services, free of charge, for people with advanced illnesses, people approaching the end of their lives and those who are bereaved. Everyone who comes to us is an individual and so their care should be individual too.
Our multi-professional team consists of experienced RGNs, Palliative Support Workers, Counsellors and Family Support Team. They work collaboratively to ensure our patients are able to discuss their needs and wishes when spending time with us.
Our operational services team includes Finance, Human Resources, Information and Clinical Governance Support and our Income Generation Team includes Fundraising, Retail, Marketing and Communications.
Our Vision is to positively influence a future in which everyone within Rossendale who accesses our services, receives the best possible care and support.
Our Values
Underpinning our vision we have three values, compassion, integrity, and excellence. Our staff and volunteers uphold these values, irrespective of their role.
We do not have an inpatient unit, but provide Hospice care within the home and enable patients to be cared for within their own home, as per their wish. Hospice care is quite unlike many other types of care.
Our teams treat everyone as an individual, spend time learning what is important to them and focusing on delivering care suited to their wishes
