throughout the Borough of Richmond, currently working in-part from home.

Responsible for: Clinical supervision of a
team of PWPs delivering Low Intensity work within the Richmond Wellbeing
Service.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Length of Contract: Permanent, subject to
ongoing funding
Main Responsibilities:
To provide clinical leadership and
co-ordination for the RB Mind Low Intensity team for Richmond Wellbeing Service
(RWS). RB
Mind is subcontracted to East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) for the
provision of this service. The post presents an excellent
career development opportunity for an experienced Psychological Wellbeing
Practitioner (PWP)
or qualified mental health professional, who is committed to the IAPT
model and wishes to contribute to the development of both the service and
existing staff.
The postholder
will:
work
closely with the Low
Intensity IAPT Team Service Lead, Operations Manager, clinical
supervisors and senior colleagues in the service.
ensure
we meet our obligations to partner organisations and funders and to take an
active role in the Management Team of the wider service, and in RB Mind.
develop, support and train
innovative practice to PWPs, other workers qualified to act in low intensity
worker roles, to primary care
colleagues, and to colleagues in 3rd sector organisations
offer evidence-based
practice, predominantly CBT-based psycho-educational groups, cCBT and individual
self-help, in the service hubs and community settings throughout the borough.
In
addition to carrying a clinical caseload, the post-holder will support, train
and supervise PWPs and trainee PWPs.
The post-holder will work with people from diverse
backgrounds and should be committed to working with diversity.
They will be called upon to work in different community
settings and must be prepared to be flexible in their working arrangements.
Main
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
CLINICAL
1.1.
Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service
and develop programmes of care packages.
1.2. Make decisions regarding the suitability of new referrals, adhering to RWS
referral protocols. Work with the telephone
triage team when required to ensure correct referral decisions are made,
referring to supervision when necessary.
1.3.
Help manage waiting
lists and capacity within the RB Mind service through the co-ordination of
groups and other interventions.
1.4.
Undertake risk assessment, and provide guidance and
supervision for the Low Intensity (LI) team, for clients identified as high
risk to self or others.
1.5.
Provide a range of information and support for
evidence-based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This
includes guided self-help, computerised CBT, group interventions and information
about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, on the
telephone or via other media.
1.6.
Carry a 50% caseload and provide 10 hours of clinical
contact time per week in group and individual sessions or as per national
guidelines.
1.7.
Complete all data entry as required within the service
and prepare monitoring reports with the assistance of the service
administrator.
1.8.
Ensure that all clinical records in the (LI) team meet
the service standards.
1.9.
Work closely with other members of the RB Mind and ELFT team
to ensure appropriate step-up procedures are adhered to with minimum
disruption to clients.
1.10.
Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and
employment into the overall therapy process, through work with external
organisations including the Third sector.
1.11.
Operate at all times from an inclusive values base which
promotes recovery and recognises and respects diversity.
1.12.
Manage the clinical caseload of qualified and trainee
PWPs through case management and clinical supervision.
1.13.
Offer supervision for
supervising PWPs twice per month
1.14.
Arrange clinical skills sessions once per week
1.15.
Plan and lead group and individual clinical skills
sessions as required by IAPT and RWS standards.
1.16.
Take overall responsibility for the management of all LI
care pathways.
2.
PROFESSIONAL
2.1.
Ensure the maintenance
of standards of practice according to British Association for Cognitive and
Behavioural Psychotherapy Code of Ethics and Conduct.
2.2.
Ensure that client confidentiality and information
security is protected at all times.
2.3.
Be aware of and keep up
to date with advances in the treatment of common mental illness.
2.4.
Keep up to date records
in relation to Continuous Professional Development.
2.5.
Participate in clinical
and case management supervision on a regular basis according to IAPT
requirements
2.6. Attend line
management supervision with the Operations Manager.
2.7.
Contribute to the development of evidence-based best
practice within the service, and where appropriate to service development in
response to identified needs, develop materials, interventions and
innovations within the service, and assist with promotion of the service.
2.8.
Ensure clear learning objectives are identified for all
courses delivered by the LI IAPT service.
2.9.
Ensure that equality and diversity are key considerations
in service development and delivery
3. MANAGEMENT
3.1 Ensure that all records are maintained in line with best clinical
practice.
3.3 Ensure that all
direct reports participate in appraisal process and that their competency is
assessed in line with PWP accreditation, with action taken to ensure that
this accreditation is maintained.
3.4 Provide line supervision
as necessary for PWP accreditation and monitoring of clinical quality.
3.5 Attend weekly
management meetings as agreed with Service Lead, and liaise with
service clinicians in the Step 3 and Primary Care Liaison services
coordinated by ELFT.
4. TRAINING AND SUPERVISION
4.1. Attend and fulfill all the requirements of the IAPT approved supervision
training.
4.2.
Identify training needs across the low intensity team and
develop routes for CPD in co-ordination with the Service Lead.
4.3.
Attend locally and nationally
organised training, conferences and workshops in line with identified
professional objectives, where funds allow.
5. GENERAL
5.1.
Keep accurate and appropriate records, providing
information for monitoring and evaluation as required
5.2.
Participate in, and actively contribute to, individual
supervision, training and team meetings as required
5.3.
Be self-supporting in day to day administration tasks
5.4.
Work in accordance with RB Minds Aims, Objectives and
Values.
5.5.
Comply with all organisational policies and procedures,
and in particular to ensure safe, fair and responsible working practices
through implementation of RB Minds Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Information
Governance and Confidentiality policies.
5.6.
Undertake duties in such a manner to ensure the health
and safety of post holder, colleagues, service users, volunteers and
visitors.
5.7.
Be willing and able to work outside normal office hours,
evenings and weekends as the service demands.
5.8.
Provide occasional cover for workshops and courses in
case of PWP sickness or leave.
5.9.
Work flexibly, being prepared to perform other duties
commensurate with the role
5.10.
Actively support and promote RB Mind fundraising
activities as part of your day to day duties
