Job summary
The UTC Administrator is the first point of contact for people who arrive at the Urgent Treatment Centre. They may be patients attending an appointment, visitors, official visitors arriving for a meeting or a business making a delivery. Each one needs a friendly, helpful welcome from the receptionist who directs them to where they need to go.
You will be expected to provide effective and efficient administrative support to teams of healthcare professionals.
The role involves a high level of coordination and implementation of office procedures and will require a high level of knowledge of all clinical systems.
Main duties of the job
To ensure rooms are prepped and clean ready for when the clinicians arrive.
Welcoming patients and booking / registering them onto the clinical systems.
Fielding incoming UTC phone calls.
Control the UTC patient appointment list making sure all patients are being seen according to their arrival time.
Have an oversight of the waiting areas by visiting each regularly, keeping a close eye on all patients and bringing attention to a clinician if they could potentially be declining.
