Head of Governance and Risk
Are you looking for a new interesting and challenging role which utilises your diverse skill set in governance and risk?
We are looking for a Head of Governance and Risk to lead our hospice governance and risk management functions in our CQC rated Outstanding organisation.
A thorough understanding of corporate governance in the health or care environment is essential, along with experience in advising Boards of Trustees and Executive Leaders on governance matters.
You will also bring expertise in risk management and assurance, including the development and oversight of risk management frameworks, supporting processes and procedures, and handling internal audit reviews.
You will have a high level of personal integrity and an ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with a can-do attitude.

Main duties of the job
The role is responsible for contributing to all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance within the hospice, ensuring governance adheres to good practice and meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.
About us
Barnsley Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative and end of life care to hundreds of local people and those close to them each year. Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for people living with a life- limiting illness, whilst supporting those close to them during the period of illness and bereavement. As a specialist care provider, the range of skills we offer include, pain and symptom management, emotional support and end of life care. The hospice currently employs about 100 people and has a team of volunteers, based both at the hospice and within our Retail Hub.
