Are you a dedicated and experienced palliative care nurse looking to take your career to the next level? Saint Catherine’s is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our compassionate and expert team in providing support in the Community. If you thrive on providing high-quality, patient-centred care and are eager to lead in a dynamic and supportive environment, we would love to hear from you!
We are also open to considering developmental posts for current Band 6 nurses who have the skills, experience, and dedication to advance their practice in palliative care.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert clinical care, advice, and advocacy to patients and carers managing complex and unpredictable life-limiting illnesses. You will autonomously manage a caseload of patients, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, high-quality care in collaboration with multi-professional teams across the hospice, community, and other healthcare settings.
A vital aspect of the role is delivering education and advice to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, empowering them to navigate the challenges of palliative care with confidence and understanding. You will also lead advanced care planning, including sensitive end-of-life discussions and ethical decision-making, always respecting the individual wishes of patients and their families.
In addition, you will promote evidence-based practice by engaging in research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives, helping to shape the future of palliative care within our organisation and beyond.
