Job summary

This a new role with the main purposes of the role to coordinate all aspects of finances, optimising efficiency and financial performance to ensure the Federation/PCN achieves its long-term strategic objectives. The job holder will be instrumental in the team and will provide payroll support to approximately 200 employees across multiple sites and practices.

This is a fast pace finance position and we are looking for someone who is a self-motivated with an appetite to take on more and grow with the position. You will be given full support throughout your role and will be able to help us advance and expand our accounting department as our business continues to grow at rapid pace.

Main duties of the job

The job holder will be acting as the main point of contact for all finance related matters. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with sound accounting knowledge looking to take the next step in their career and having sole responsibility for coordinating and maintaining an accounting and payroll department. This is a full 360 finance role with tasks ranging from payroll, reconciliation, invoicing, accounts analysis, forecasting and everything in between and more.

We are looking for someone who is eager to take on the challenge of coordinating the function and thrive in this newly created position. You will need a keen eye for detail and enjoy working as part of a wider team. You may be looking after the finance department but you certainly are not alone. You will be working closely with our directors, primary care network staff, HR, admin and many more.

About us

We are Surrey Heath Community Providers Limited, which is a federation of 7 GP practices across 10 sites, covering a population of over 97,000 patients across Surrey Heath. We began in 2016 and now employ around 200 members of staff across our clinical and corporate support teams. Since 2019 we have hosted the Primary Care Network in Surrey Heath.

As a GP Federation, we are proud to represent our member practices and to champion primary care by working with local general practice and system partners in the provision of community based healthcare services. · Financial forecasting and analysis

· Monthly reporting

· Managing company and staff expenses

· Raising, uploading and ensuring any invoices are paid within the given time frame

· Performing all activities necessary to process the payroll, including maintaining related records, preparing accounting spreadsheets and documents, and preparing special reports for management.

· Manage and oversee the pension schemes, retaining accurate records

  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
  • GCSE or Higher level Mathematics.

Desirable

  • Educated to Degree level.
  • Accounting Qualification such Association of Accounting Technicians: This can also be provided as part of the successful job holders personal development.
  • Payroll Qualification: This can also be provided as part of the successful job holders personal development.

Professional Registration

Desirable

  • Association of Chartered Accountants.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of preparing and running monthly payroll.
  • Sound financial information including knowledge of tax and legislation.
  • Experience with reconciliation.
  • Experience with invoices and ledgers.
  • Experience of being the main point of contact for all finance related matters.

  • Confident user of excel.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • An organised and methodical approach to work.
  • Good eye for detail.
