An exciting opportunity has arisen for both full
and part time Band 7 equivalent (from £40,057 depending on
experience) Physician Associates.

Physician Associates will work as key members of
the Surrey Heath general practice clinical team and the multi-disciplinary care
homes team.
The roles have been designed to be interesting and
fulfilling roles, embedded in General Practice using a wide range of the skills
you have.
Supervision and mentoring will be provided by the
appropriate senior medical staff - the type of support will depend on the post
holders skills and knowledge and determined by our clinical governance
arrangements. You will have annual appraisals and continuing professional
development as set out by the Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA).
These are new and exciting posts and you will be
well supervised and supported.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a high standard of patient care using advanced
autonomous clinical skills with in-depth theoretical knowledge and evidence
based practice working under the supervision of a General Practitioner.
To manage a clinical caseload to deal with presenting patients
needs in a primary care setting, in particular working to support the delivery
of the Primary Care Network Direct Enhanced services of which Enhanced Health
in Care Homes is one.
To provide clinical leadership where appropriate in your role within
the Primary Care Network Team or GP practice and support other members of the
team to develop and maintain clinical skills appropriate to your role and
expertise, through peer support and mentoring
Initially the role will ensure a breadth of clinical work,
telephone, video, face to face across the week focus will
be on the population from cradle to grave providing a holistic approach to
high quality care and service delivery.

- Post graduate diploma or degree (physician associate)
- Maintained professional registration with the Faculty of Physician Associates and/or the General Medical council following implementation of statutory regulation, working within the latest code of professional conduct (CIPD).
- Evidence of UK Physician Associate (PA) National Re-Certification Exam, which needs to be retaken every six years.

- Willing to working under supervision of a doctor as part of the medical team.
- Understanding of NHS long term plan and priorities relevant to primary care
- Local knowledge of community healthcare and social care is desirable
- Capacity to be innovative and develop the role of a physician associate
