We're looking fortwo Senior Practitionersto work in the MHST's in North Lancashire. We wish to appoint people who want to make a difference to the emotional wellbeing of children and young people in schools. We're seeking people with relevant professional qualifications and direct experience of working with child mental health. The role involves providing evidence based therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their parent-carers and working in partnership with education settings.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will be employed on a full-time basis to delivermental health support across a range of education settings inNorth Lancashire. The service base for the North Lancashire MHST is located at39 Northgate, White Lund Industrial Estate, Morecambe, LA3 3PA.

Job responsibilities

Were seeking two experienced mental health professionals to work collaboratively with education settings, with children, young people and their families and the care community that support them. The post-holders will work under supervision across a range of education settings to deliver high-quality, evidence-based early interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs. We wish to appoint mental health practitioners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and capabilities to work autonomously and responsibly within their scope of practice, alongside education colleagues. Senior Practitioners play a key role as members of the Mental Health Support Teams, who have responsibility for delivering whole school approach activities to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for children and young people. The post holders will provide clinical skills and/or clinical case management supervision for the Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) working in the service. They will be required to attend supervisor training to enable their ability to work as EMHP supervisors. They will need to be either already qualified in a higher-level evidence-based therapy or will be required to attend relevant therapeutic training for the role. Applicants who are qualified EMHP and CWPs will be supported to join the Senior Wellbeing
