Shaftesbury Icanho is a non-residential highly specialist community based brain injury rehabilitation service. Demand for our service is growing and we are looking to expand our team.
Icanho's client base is 100% ABI including stroke. Our clinical work is undertaken as an interdisciplinary team and OT is an integral and valued part of that team. We work with people in our purpose-built centre, in clients' homes and the community, based on need.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in neuro-rehabilitation who wishes to progress in this field. You will be joining our small team of experienced and enthusiastic occupational therapists to deliver client centred rehabilitation, 1:1 and group interventions including support to help people back to work. You will work with experienced specialist occupational therapists to build your skills/knowledge.

Main duties of the job
Work as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team to deliver high quality goal-centred rehabilitation.
Responsible for a caseload of clients to provide OT assessment and intervention including return to work/study, treatment and discharge of clients, acting as key worker when necessary.
Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans with the client and their family including client centred goal setting.
Write reports and maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping utilising SystmOne.
Appropriate use, analysis and interpretation of data, including valid outcome measures.
Contribute to development, evaluation and integration of evidence-based practice.
Involve family and carers in rehabilitation process providing education and training as required.
Undertake risk assessment and risk management.
Attend interdisciplinary and multi-agency meetings and provide specialist consultation, and advice to other colleagues.
Supervise rehabilitation assistants, and OT students, with support from colleagues.
Develop and take part in the provision of educational sessions, including presentations.
Evidence own CPD by undertaking relevant training.
Maintain knowledge of relevant development and research in the field of ABI.
Participate in relevant audit/research activities.
Maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, inc. NHS, Social care, Medico Legal, housing, education, employers, voluntary sector and other community organisations.
